Gen Z favours marketing-specific degrees in break from the past
Career and Salary Survey data reveals younger marketers are favouring marketing-specific degrees, while the broader workforce remains dominated by the degree educated.
Marketing-specific degrees are becoming increasingly common among Gen Z marketers compared to their older counterparts, Marketing Week’s Career and Salary Survey suggests.
The exclusive data shows 23.3% of the more than 3,000 marketers surveyed have a marketing-specific degree. Looking specifically by age, this percentage rises substantially to 36.8% of Gen Z marketers, before dropping back to 24.6% of Gen Y/millennial marketers and just 13.2% of their Gen X peers.
