Ah, January. The time of year for optimism, fresh starts and…a new job?
Landing a new marketing job in the current climate is easier said than done. It’s been a tough year for job seeking senior marketers and those looking for a career change.
Despite the optimism that a new year can bring, it’s far from certain 2024 will be much better.
2023 saw many senior marketers leave their jobs by choice or as a victim of the economy. Getting back into jobs has been hard, with brands cutting back, not replacing CMOs and often hiring internally, as Marketing Week reported earlier this year.
“There have been more redundancies this year of senior marketers than the past few,” says Daniel Krendel, a director at recruiting firm Fortune Hill.
